The active ingredient in NGX-4010 is trans-capsaicin, a pure synthetic form of capsaicin. By applying high-concentration trans-capsaicin directly to the site of pain (following the application of an anesthetic cream) this investigational product may deliver up to three months of relief from only a one-hour application.
